We all love to save a few pounds when we can, but how do we make sure that we get the quality and value we want?
Most online retailers offer a branded original product alongside an unbranded ‘compatible’ alternative. For instance here at day2dayshop we sell original inkjet cartridges like the Epson T0715 alongside a ‘compatible’ Jet Tec version which offers great value but slightly lower quality.
You are faced with a dilemma, pay more for an original product of the best quality, or purchase a lower priced substitute and save money?
Our advice is that if you want the very best quality, always buy original branded products.
However if value is the most important consideration, purchasing ‘compatible’ products can be an excellent decision. There is a reward (lower costs) in return for accepting a possible risk (lower quality).
All products sold at day2dayshop, be they original or compatible, are vetted for quality and value. We do not sell the cheapest possible imitation product imported from the Far East. We feel that to sell low quality products would harm our reputation and be a false economy for you the customer. Unfortunately not all online shops feel the same.

1. Only buy ‘compatible’ products from retailers you know and trust.
2. If you are unsure about the quality of a compatible brand, check to see if they have their own website and are based in the UK, for example: www.jettec.co.uk.
3. If you are still unsure, err on the side of caution and buy the original branded manufacturer’s product.
4. At all costs avoid cheap imported imitation products sold for pennies. After all, the old adage is usually true, if it looks to good to be true, it probably is!
